TOPIC: Fluxline method for cohesive sediments

Fluxline method for cohesive sediments 5 hours 33 minutes ago #46725

Hey everyone,

I am having a bit confusion about the fluxline method. I use two sediment classes in my model (1 NCOH + 1 COH), but the fluxline method only prints the fluxes for MYCLASS 1 which is my NCOH class index. I also see that flusec_gai is called within bedload_solvs_fe_gaia. So I have some questions:

1. What is the unit of the printed flux?
2. Is it only the sand bedload flux or bedload+suspended load flux?
3. Is there anyway to print suspended cohesive sediment fluxes?

Thank you so much for the help. Have a nice day!

Hi,

the unit of the fluxlines in gaia is kg/s (QS : 5th column) and the sum of QS (6th column) is in kg
I have worked on fluxlines for suspended load / tracers but didn't finish the work so far. It is still on my plan but I don't know when I will have time for it.
So as far as I know there are no fluxlines for suspended load neither cohesive nor non-cohesive.
You can calculate the current flux from the result file (which is of course not the same...)

Best regards,
Rebekka

Hey Rebekka,

Thanks a lot! I was trying to avoid the result file option due to large file sizes. Looking forward to good news.

Cheers,
Arda
